As the oldest daughter and only big city living sibiling, I’ve alway describe myself as the white sheep of the family.
Most of my family are living on the land.
My oldest brother owns a cattle ranch.
The below pictures are of his wife’s family cattle station, they have been living on that land for generations.
When I took these photographs, the land was in the grip of a 9 year drought.
The trees survive.
My brother took my son to check on the water levels.
The cattle yards were empty.
The sky is huge.
This cattle station has passed from down from family member to family member since settlement times and has retained the land title to the beach. In other words they own this beach!
White Sheep or Black Sheep, who has the better life?
Definately the Black Sheep!
